In Chile’s Millahue Valley, Alexander and Carrie Vik’s new vineyard resort is a spectacle for the eyes, palate, and imagination.
t’s hard to imagine that such a wild place could be home to what the Viks call “an avant-garde retreat and wine spa,” a curious combination that reflects the couple’s idiosyncrasies. Like their other hotels, Viña VIK, is more of an art gallery. Each of the 22 suites is a separate, quirky artwork. In the spa you can find some of my paintings and 2 of my videos: “Agua” and “April 16”.

I was pleasantly surprised to discover one of my paintings in an article about chilean interior designer Paula Gutiérrez in Caras Magazine. She has decorated many five stars hotels, such as Grand Hyatt Santiago, Awasi Patagonia (where another of my paintings is in the sitting room) and Casa Higueras Valparaíso. Read more
I was featured in a book made by my Alma Mater: Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile, where they gather 100 contemporary painters that have studied there. I was specially proud, since two of my daughters (Patricia and Andrea Domínguez) were featured as well. Read more
I wanted to thank “Arte al Límite” a chilean-based art magazine for the great work they have been doing for the last 15 years. It’s been 89 journals so far and I have been lucky enough to be published in four of them (#30, #44, #70 and #80), I have also been featured in four of their books: “Latinoamérica al Límite” (2014), “100 Miradas al Arte Contemporáneo” (2014), “Artistas Chilenas siglo XXI” (2015) and “Colección Arte al Límite, Sin Límites” (2017).
