En Tránsito

On September 4th, with the start of the circuit that will tour the works, the International ANIMAL Gallery inaugurated, in Santiago, Chile, the 2007 exhibition In Transit that, since November 4th, is presented simultaneously in two spaces of the City of Mendoza. The Institutions where the itinerary continues are: MUCHA: Museum of Chacras de Coria and Alianza Francesa, organizations that join Contemporary ED Gallery’s management project. The Mendoza production company ED Espacio of art and design, with the sponsorship of the Argentine Embassy in Chile and the Superior Council of Tourism, as well as important companies from both countries (PLANOAZUL.com – Diario Los Andes and Fundación del Interior), seeks to strengthen and foster cultural ties between both bordering cities, providing a current view of realistic painting and binational contemporary art through the exhibition of works by Chilean artists: Patricia Claro, Fransisco Schwember and Nicole Tijoux and the argentineans: Daniel Bernal, Adrián Mazzieri, Matías Cuevas and Emiliano Dalmau.

Some of the Argentinian and Chilean artists were present at the last edition of the 2007 arteBA International Fair in Buenos Aires, where they put the level of their productions to the test. Some of their works were acquired by renowned collectors, such as Matías Cuevas, Patricia Claro and Nicole Tijoux.

The exhibition exposes the culmination of an initiative that involved agreements, geographical displacements, selection of artists and visual proposals, media coverage and a series of actions that show the interest of both spaces in achieving the project. Managing it involved, in this case, to articulate visibility strategies that made it possible to show the artistic productions of Mendoza in Chile and of Chile in Mendoza, putting in intercommunication, in addition, the visual proposals of a group of painters.
