Sin Título

The workshop visit is a fundamental tool for the curatorial practice, as is perhaps the survey for a sociologist: a sort of on-field work. The 84 visits that led to this exhibition had, as a premise, a simple approach: to look at painting again. That is why Untitled is not considered as a cadastre of contemporary Chilean painting but as a halt in an ongoing investigation. It is the recognition of a particular territory and a blog that reveals the path that led to that recognition. It tells of how a route is constructed and proposes, in turn, that a territory is nothing other than a route. Hence, this exhibition aims to be an open study that offers its results; diverse, scattered, irregular, and proposes to analyze them and construct narratives from them through a period of exhibition. Emphasizing the analytical potential that is housed in the possibility that each viewer and different specialists generate compared and discussed readings from the totality of the material compiled to date. Untitled is offered precisely as the time and space for this to take place.

PROGRAM

To ensure certain reflections surrounding this painting file, Untitled offers multiple instances of encounters in the Gallery. Special guests will have the task of intervening in the archive to elaborate, from the works gathered in the exhibition, narratives or speeches that tell of the numerous and antagonistic ways of doing, looking and speaking of painting.
